ISLAMABAD – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday expanded the scope of the prohibited foreign funding case against Imran Khan and others by adding more accused and a witness to the investigation.
Banking Court Judge Abdul Ghafoor Kakkar was hearing the case.
As the hearing commenced, Special Prosecutor Waseeq Malik informed the court that the challan in the case has been finalized and would be submitted at the next hearing. He also stated that two additional accused and one witness have been included in the case.
The investigating officer did not appear before the court due to ill health, while the special prosecutor appeared and updated the court on the progress of the case.
According to the FIA, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan and others have been nominated in the case, which also includes charges related to money laundering and other provisions.
The court extended the interim bail of accused Siraj Ahmed and Faisal Qazi until April 14, and directed that the challan be submitted on the next date of hearing.
The hearing was subsequently adjourned until April 14.
