ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s newly established Federal Constitutional Court Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan on Friday issued his inaugural message following the court’s formation.
In his statement, Justice Aminuddin Khan said he considers it an honour to be appointed as the first Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court and to play a role in laying the institution’s foundations.
He expressed his hope that the court would evolve into a guardian of constitutional supremacy in Pakistan and a strong symbol of justice for future generations.
Justice Aminuddin said that the protection of fundamental rights would remain the court’s foremost priority. He termed the establishment of the Federal Constitutional Court a significant milestone in the country’s constitutional history, adding that it reflects a renewed national commitment to the rule of law. The interpretation of the Constitution, he said, will be carried out with transparency, independence and integrity.
The chief justice pointed out that the court has been entrusted with a highly sensitive and important responsibility. Its role, he added, is not limited to adjudication but represents a sacred trust that directly influences the lives, freedoms and aspirations of citizens.
Justice Aminuddin further stated that the institution aims to build a judicial forum that upholds honesty, impartiality and intellectual depth.
He emphasised that every matter brought before the court will be dealt with utmost care, fairness and respect for constitutional supremacy, judicial principles and institutional dignity.
