In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and Hurriyat leaders have condemned India for committing scores of massacres including the 1993 Sopore mas-sacre in the territory over past 33 years.

On January 6 in 1993, the Indian forces massa-cred around 60 men and women in Sopore town.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar while paying rich trib-utes to the martyrs of Sopore said that brute Indian occupation forces ransacked the town, ruthlessly gunned down many innocent civilians, vandalised major part of the apple town and destroyed the eco-nomic backbone of the occupied territory.

He con-demned the Indian fascist regime for its heinous and criminal act of blocking the fair investigation of the carnage perpetrated by Indian troops. The spokes-man called for an impartial probe into the gruesome massacre by International Court of Justice.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders in-cluding Syed Bashir Andrabi, Khawaja Firdous, Abdul Ahad Parra, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Zamrooda Habib, Yasmeen Raja, Farida Behanji, Dr Musaib, Ahmed Bashir Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Shameem Shawl and Altaf Ahmad Butt in their statements termed the Kashmiris’ sacrifices as the priceless asset of the ongoing freedom struggle.

They said, the Sopore massacre is a living dark tale of a country which has always perpetrated mili-tarization and suppression under the garb of democ-ratic façade.

The leaders also paid glowing tributes to the victims of Sopore carnage and demanded an impar-tial probe into all such massacre to bring the perpe-trators to justice.—KMS
