European Union (EU) Ambassador Androulla Kaminara on Monday held a meeting with the Alumni from the European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students (ERASMUS+) and EU Visitors Programmes.
ERASMUS+ is a European student exchange programme and is considered a flagship initiative allowing Pakistani students to study in prestigious European Universities.
ERASMUS has been a reality in Europe for 30 years, and opened up to the world in 2014 as ERASMUS+ following its success among generations of European students.
The alumni on the occasion shared their experiences of studying in the European universities and termed it quite informative, entertaining and beneficial.
It can be summarized in 3 words: enriching, unforgettable, and unique.
Since 2015, almost 300 students from Pakistan had the opportunity to study in Europe. In 2019 alone, 93 students left for Europe to be hosted by universities in 17 different countries.
Erasmus+ provides a unique opportunity for those young Pakistanis who will take the country forward as professionals, academics and future leaders to experience transfer of knowledge and contribute to the sustainable development of the country. Such exchange programmes further strengthen the social, cultural, academic and commercial partnerships between the European Union and Pakistan. Most of the Pakistani higher education institutions are now partnering in ERAMUS+ projects and this is an indisputable evidence of the success of the programme.
