ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to establish a new Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) Complex at the former Naval Headquarters building in Sector G-6, Islamabad, with three government departments directed to shift their offices under a revised administrative arrangement.

According to an office order issued by the CDA Administration Directorate on November 6, 2026, the Islamabad Water Agency (IWA), Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) and Maintenance Directorate have been assigned alternative office locations.

Under the new arrangement, the Islamabad Water Agency will move from the first floor of the former Naval Headquarters building to Rooms 1-25 at the DMA Office in the Fire Headquarters Building, Sector G-7/1.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Municipal Administration will relocate to the former Naval Headquarters in Sector G-6. It has been allocated several rooms on the first floor, including Rooms 141-144, 147-156, 158-160, 161-167, 170 and 181, along with Rooms 159-A and 159-B.

The Maintenance Directorate will also be accommodated in the same building, with Rooms 125-133 and 138-140 designated for its operations.

The authority has instructed the departments to ensure that only movable office belongings, such as furniture, computers, equipment, official documents and store materials, are transferred.

The order prohibits the removal or dismantling of fixed installations, including wall-mounted air conditioners, built-in furniture, electrical fittings and partitions. All such fixtures must remain intact throughout the relocation process.
