Elimination of land grabbing mafia Islamabad police’s top priority: IGP

The federal police have apprehended 15 land grabbers during operation against land grabbing mafia in the city, a police spokesman said on Sunday.

A grand operation against land grabbers is underway following the special directions of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas, the spokesperson further said.

On Saturday, police received a call from an overseas Pakistani that some land grabbers and their operatives are trying to occupy his land.

SP City Kamran Amir Khan immediately directed DSP Bhara Kahu to respond the scene following which DSP Bhara Kahu, SHO along with team responded timely and arrested 11 accused. A police team also seized huge cache of weapons. A case has been registered against the accused.

Meanwhile, another citizen informed Bani Gala Police Station that some accused were trying to occupy his land and also resorted to firing.

On this call, Bani gala police team rushed to the scene and arrested three accused of land grabbing mafia.

Weapons were also recovered from their possession and case was registered against them.

IG Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas in a statement said that Islamabad police was active against qabza Mafia and its operatives.

Such elements should be brought to justice in any case. Illegal occupation of any citizen’s property will not be tolerated at all. Citizens are also requested to report any such incident to the police immediately.
