LAHORE – Driving license-related services have been temporarily suspended across Punjab due to an upgrade of the Driving Licence Issuance Management System (DLIMS).
The Lahore Traffic Police made the announcement in a post on X. Authorities have requested citizens to cooperate during the system upgrade and avoid inconvenience until the process is completed.
According to the announcement, all affected services will be restored as soon as the DLIMS upgrade is completed.

Citizens are advised to wait for the restoration of the system before seeking driving licence-related services.
Meanwhile, driving licence holders in Punjab have been given a new facility as authorities have allowed endorsement for driving licences, according to the DIG Traffic.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab has approved the facility, allowing drivers to obtain their second driving licence from any district in the province after completing the required test.
Previously, a driver’s subsequent licence had to be issued from the same district where the first licence was issued. Under the new arrangement, citizens will be able to apply for their second licence from any city in Punjab.
The endorsement facility has been introduced to make the licensing process more convenient for citizens. Officials said the availability of an online system has made it easier to verify applicants’ data, allowing the facility to be extended.
