Dr Fowzia vows to continue struggle

On the occasion of the Chehlum of late mother Asmat Siddiqui, Aafia Movement Pakistan leader and noted neurophysician of the country Dr Fowzia Siddiqui vowed to continue struggle for release and repatriation of his sister and noted educationist Dr Aafia Siddiqui, who is presently languishing in a US jail in a false and fabricated case.

As per details, a large number of political, social and civil society leaders and people belonging to different walks of life reached the Gulshan e Iqbal residence of Dr Fowzia to attend the Chehlum.

They included Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh amir Muhammad Hussain Mehanti and Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Altaf Shakoor.

Addressing on the occasion, Dr Fowzia Siddiqui said that she is not only committed to the cause of Aafia Siddiqui but she would also struggle for a Pakistan as dreamt by his father Dr Saleh Siddiqui and mother Asmat Siddiqui and for which her grandmother, belonging to a Nawab family, had donated all her jewellery to Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. They wanted a Pakistan where the honour of its daughter was not endangered.

Aafia Movement Pakistan volunteers Imam Hussain Hamdam and Hafiz Muzamil Noor recited Naats.

A Quran Khuwani was held and special prayers offered for the martyrs of Pakistan army, rain and flood affected people and for release of Dr Aafia and all other innocent prisoners and also for early recovery of the missing persons.

Dr Fowzia said that she was sad that she could not bring his sister Aafia back home during the life of her mother.

However, she said due to the training she got from her parents she is content that this struggle is to please Allah, the Almighty.

She appealed to the whole nation to support her movement for the sake of defending the country and honour of its daughters.

She said that on September 23, Aafia was handed 86 year jail sentence by a biased court in the USA and on that day a peaceful protest under the banner of “Miscarriage of Justice Day” would be observed inside and outside the country.

JI Sindh Amir Muhammad Hussain Mehanti and that Asmat Siddiqui was a great woman. She struggled to divert the attention of rulers and leaders of political parties towards the issue of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.

He said the unweaving struggle of the Aafia Movement for the last two decades is proof of her successful struggle. He said that the USA has created huge challenges for the Muslims in the whole world.

He said our rulers have disappointed the nation on every sensitive issue including the issue of Dr Aafia Siddiqui. He demanded the government to take practical steps for the repatriation of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.

PDP Chairman Altaf Shakoor said that she never heard a curse from the mouth of Asmat Siddiqui for the rulers.In her last days she asked Dr Fowzia to visit Dubai to forgive General Musharaf.

He said it was his greatness. He said the reason why the corrupt and cowardly rulers rule us is that workers of political parties do not make their leaders accountable. He said our corrupt political system instead of creating real political workers is creating political slaves.

He said if the political workers make their leaders accountable Dr Aafia Siddiqui could be brought back home within a few days.

On the occasion, different leaders and workers of political and social organizations recorded their comments about Asmat Siddiqui and expressed their disappointment over the role of Pakistani rulers on Dr Aafia Siddiqui issue.
