LAHORE – A final determination in the alleged rape case involving a police officer and a girl with an intellectual disability will be made after the DNA report is received, the sources said on Thursday.
The initial medical examination of the girl did not find evidence of rape, according to the SSP Investigation.
However, officials said the investigation remains ongoing and the DNA analysis will be crucial in determining whether the alleged rape occurred.
A medical board has also been constituted to assess the girl’s mental condition.
The board is expected to submit its findings on August 18.
Meanwhile, the arrested Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) has been placed on a three-day physical remand for further investigation.
The alleged incident took place on August 2 within the jurisdiction of Ghaziabad Police Station in Lahore. Police have also incorporated kidnapping charges into the case against the accused officer.
The SSP Investigation said police protocols were allegedly violated when the girl was brought to the police station.
Investigators are continuing to collect evidence and examine all aspects of the case.
The DNA report and medical board’s assessment are expected to play a key role in determining the next course of action.
