LAHORE – An internal inquiry has revealed shocking details behind the suspension of an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in Lahore, who is accused of raping assaulting a young beggar girl inside the premises of the Ghaziabad Police Station.
The initial reports suggested that ASI Imran intercepted the girl and brought her to the Ghaziabad Police Station on his motorcycle.
When questioned by the sentry on gate duty regarding the girl’s presence, ASI Imran falsely claimed that she was a suspect being brought in for interrogation.
The officer then took the girl into an investigation room, where the alleged sexual assault took place.
Police sources disclosed that following the assault, the ASI personally dropped the victim back near her locality.
Meanwhile, her family members had arrived at the police station to register a kidnapping complaint, only to receive a phone call from home informing them that the girl had returned.
Following the revelation of the incident, senior police officers took immediate notice, leading to the suspension of the accused ASI and the initiation of a strict internal investigation.
