Diabetes is rapidly spreading across the globe, posing significant risks to physical health. The disease can cause irreversible damage to vital organs if not managed properly. Common symptoms include weight gain, frequent hunger, frequent urination, digestive issues, and skin problems. Experts recommend that individuals experiencing these symptoms should consult a doctor immediately. They also emphasize that diabetic patients can avoid severe complications by leading a careful and healthy lifestyle.

On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, an awareness seminar and free medical camp was organized by the Saylani Welfare International Trust at its head office.

The event was attended by Professor Dr. Abdul Rab, diabetes specialist Dr. Mohammad Idris Ahmed, Saylani’s Managing Committee member Taha Ahmedani, and Saylani Medical & Diagnostic Center Administrator Wazir Raza. Dr. Idris Ahmed highlighted that managing diabetes requires careful attention to diet and healthy lifestyle habits. However, he noted that 98% of diabetic patients in Pakistan neglect their diet, contributing to the rising number of cases. He recommended that diabetic patients should eat in intervals and take a 20 to 25-minute walk daily.

Professor Dr. Abdul Rab emphasized the importance of maintaining proper digestion and advised individuals over the age of 40 to regularly test their blood sugar levels.
