DG PID holds meeting of chief editors, journalists

Director General of Press Information Department Lahore, Mr. Shafqat Abbas held a meeting with the chief editors, journalists, and representatives of various regional newspapers today at Multan Press Club.

In the meeting, DG PID emphasized the importance of the youth of the country, especially young journalists, to play their role in the development and prosperity of the country by taking full advantage of the use of modern technologies.

He expressed that journalists play the role of eyes and ears in any democratic society. He appreciated the role of the media, especially the positive and timely reporting during the recent Corona outbreak and floods in Pakistan.

On this occasion, DG Shafqat Abbas said that there is no shortage of talent among the youth of Pakistan, the only need is to guide them in the right direction, for which the role of the media is very important.

He further said that the youth should master the positive use of modern technologies, especially digital media platforms, so that they can face the challenges of today and make a name not only for themselves but also for Pakistan in the world.

Journalists and media persons thanked DG Shafqat Abbas and also demanded to conduct training workshops in Multan, as in Bahawalpur, and hoped that such practices can be continued in the future.

On this, DG Shafqat Abbas expressed hope that such training programs will be organized in the near future to provide various learning opportunities to young journalists.
