China celebrates its 77th Anniversary during September 2026. China has undergone profound changes and made significant economic progress over the past 77 years. Obviously, now China has become the world’s largest country in terms of industrial output and trade in goods, the largest consumer market, with the world’s largest foreign exchange reserves, and the world’s second-largest economy. Today, China is successfully stepping onto the global stage with confidence, openness and composure, playing an increasingly important role in international affairs.
The CPEC has been dubbed as a strategic asset and economic lifeline for Pakistan vividly reflecting real strength, trust, cooperation and collaboration of the 75 years of diplomatic relations of ironclad friendship between two countries. President Xi Jinping has been a strong supporter of CPEC and Pakistan-China relations. Under his leadership, the bilateral relationship has further developed into an “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership”, with CPEC as a flagship BRI initiative. Since 2013, CPEC has strengthened cooperation in infrastructure, energy, connectivity, economic development and security, reflecting the longstanding spirit of mutual trust, friendship and support between the two countries.
CPEC Phase-I has significantly contributed to Pakistan’s provincial development through investments in energy, infrastructure, transport, health, education and community development. Building on these achievements, CPEC 2.0 offers opportunities to strengthen energy efficiency, renewable energy, green transformation, industrial development and sustainable growth, supporting Pakistan’s economic resilience while creating new avenues for cooperation between the two countries.
In Punjab, Sahiwal Coal Power Plant has the total capacity of 1320 MW, which serves more than 4 million families. It has an investment of $ 1.8 billion and uses super critical technology mitigating all false and fake propaganda about its so-called anti-climate composition. Moreover, Karot Hydrogen Power Project has a generating capacity of 720 MW and served more than 5 million families and has achieved positive impacts on environment and CO2 reduction, 3.5mn tons/year. Furthermore, Lahore Orange Line Metro Train has become a prime example of modern urban transport which is people and environment friendly. It covers 27 KM and has already facilitated more than 280 million passengers in the last 5 years.
Chashma Nuclear Power Plan (C1-C4) has generation capacity of 1200 MW which has reduced coal power by 3.14 mn tons/year, CO2 by 8.16 mn tons/year and generation transformation up to 70 mn which is commendable. Additionally, Chashma C-5 has reduced coal utility by up to 3.14 mn tons/year, CO2 reduction 8.20mn tons/year which has generated 40,000 new jobs. In case of Matiari-Lahore HVDC Transmission Line, it covered a total distance of 886 Km, capacity of 4000 MW, electricity transfer 35 bn kwh/year and households served 10 million.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has Suki Kinari Hydropower Project with capacity of 884 MW, people served 5 million, coal saved 1.2 million tons/year, CO2 reduction up to 3.2 million tons/year and total investment $ 1.8 billion. Karakoram Highway (KKH) Phase-II transformed the total distance 118 Km (Havelian-Thakot), which was reduced to 2 hours. Rashakai Special Economic Zone has a total area of 1000 acres with total enterprises 27 showing holistic and comprehensive socio-economic uplifting in this province under the CPEC.
Sindh has many mega projects of the CPEC. K 2 & K 3 Nuclear Power Plant has the capacity of 2,200 MW, coal reduction 24 mn tons/year, 16.32 mn tons/year and green benefits equivalent to 140 mn trees and last but not least, families served 2 million. The Thar Coal Block-1 Project has the capacity of 1,320 MW, families served 4 million which has generated 1,8000 new jobs for the local community. Sukkur-Multan Motorway (M5) has reduced travel time from 11 to 4 hours and generated 2,9000 jobs. Thar Coal Block II Power Project has the same capacity i.e. 1,320 MW which has state of the art technology and productive channels. Moreover, Dawood Wind Power Project has a capacity of 49.5 MW and families served 100,000. Sachal Wind Power Project has the same capacity i.e. 49.5 MW which has reduced carbon up to 84,804 tons/year.
In Balochistan, the CPEC has various small, medium and mega projects supporting the local people, communities and enterprises alike. Moreover, social uplift, health, education, clean drinking water, supplies of solar panels, electric fishing boats, skilled education and scholarships to young students and last but not least, operationalization of Gwadar Seaport and Gwadar International Airport are changing its potential, prospects and prosperity.
Precisely, the CPEC has become one of the biggest supporters of sustainable social development, connectivity and world class infrastructure development in the province. Faqeer School Gwadar has enrolled 500+ students and upgraded primary school to high school. China Pakistan Friendship Hospital Gwadar has already treated more than 350,000+ patients which is one of the biggest health/community development projects under the CPEC.
Gwadar Seawater Desalination Plant has capacity of fresh water up to 3000 tons per day which largely addresses local drinking water issues. The China-aided Technical and Vocational Institute has provided more than 3000 training opportunities to local people. Last but not least, under the Solar Panel Assistance scheme, China has provided over 15000 household solar panels to needy families easing power shortages.
CPEC Phase 1 has become a major economic facilitator, integrating key sectors of the national economy and transforming energy, communications, manufacturing, health, education, agriculture and infrastructure across Pakistan, turning challenges into opportunities and giving hope to its people. CPEC 2.0 is vital for qualitative industrialization, green transformation, modern agriculture, social development, disaster management, climate resilience, digitalization, artificial intelligence and emerging quantum technologies.
Unfortunately, self-styled experts, retired bureaucrats, sponsored pseudo-intellectuals, and notably, former FBR Chairman Mr. Shabbar Zaidi Shabbar, Mr. Akram Naeem Bharoka and many other allegedly paid agents try to misrepresent CPEC’s agreements, loans, projects and policies as harmful to Pakistan’s national interests. However, the statistical data of CPEC projects and China’s continued humanitarian assistance systematically dismantle such fallacious arguments. “Puppetry journalists” and “sponsored pseudo-intellectuals” often emphasize debt concerns, question project viability and allege hidden agendas. Their paid and sponsored V-logs, commentaries, articles and comments, characterized by misinterpretation, selective citation and borrowed wisdom, fail to grasp these multidimensional realities and seek to drive a wedge between the “iron brothers.”
This is not mere rhetoric; it is the empirical reality confirmed by: trade data showing China as Pakistan’s largest trading partner, investment data showing China as Pakistan’s largest source of FDI, public opinion surveys showing overwhelming support for Pak-China relations and last but not least, strategic outcomes demonstrating enhanced security and development. Pakistan and China, together, are writing a new chapter in international relations, one that future generations will study as a model of enduring friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Thus, these V-logs have no substance, just dark shadows of their own egos and personal frustrations.
