RAWALPINDI – A court has admitted for hearing the bail application filed by an accused arrested in the murder case of digital expert Hina Javed.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Naseer Ahmed heard the matter and admitted the bail petition of suspect Zeeshan Arshad for regular hearing.
The court issued notices to the complainant party and the concerned station house officer (SHO).
The court adjourned further proceedings on the bail application until September 19.
During the hearing, the court also expressed displeasure over the filing of two separate bail applications for the same accused by two different lawyers before the proceedings began.
The court questioned how two separate powers of attorney for the same prisoner could have been biometrically verified at Adiala Jail and asked how the accused had authorised two different lawyers to file separate bail applications on his behalf.
The court sought an explanation from Adiala Jail authorities regarding the matter.
During Monday’s hearing, both lawyers representing Zeeshan Arshad, Hamza Abbasi and Junaid Hassan, appeared before the court along with their respective powers of attorney.
Both lawyers produced documents bearing the accused’s signatures as well as biometric verification from the jail.
Taking notice of the issue, the court issued a notice to the superintendent of Adiala Jail and sought a report explaining how the two separate powers of attorney had been processed and verified.
