Cop shot at in Srinagar’s Batmaloo


A police inspector with Anti-Corruption Bureau was shot and injured by militants in Batmaloo area of Srinagar on Monday evening.

Quoting official sources, news agency GNS reported that the militants fired in the neck of the Inspector Sheikh Firdous when he was returning from the mosque after evening prayers

. He was subsequently removed to hospital for treatment, an official said. A senior police officer told GNS that the condition of the cop is stable.—GK
