In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Anjuman Auqaf of Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, has denounced the continued closure of the historic Jamia Masjid by the authorities.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the An-juman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that for the 27th consecutive Friday, today, the Jamia Mas-jid was shut down by the authorities for devotees to offer obligatory Friday prayers, violating their fun-damental right to practice religion and causing them deep sorrow and anxiety.
The Anjuman deplored that its chief, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has been under illegal house deten-tion for the last two and half years.—INP
