Cold weather likely to persist

Pakistan Meteoroligical Department (PMD) Spokesman Dr Khalid Malik Tuesday said intense coldness would prevail for further four days (till Sunday) in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Talking to APP, he said the cold waves griped the whole Punjab as well as Sindh whereas northern areas already getting snowfall followed by rain.
The spokesman said the upcoming rain spell of the current month was expected in the last week of December. He said the ongoing chill weather conditions would be reduce next week and the temperature would become normal.
The Regional Meteorological Center Peshawar has forecast mainly cold and dry weather in most parts of the province. However, during a daily report it says that fog is likely to occur in Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi and D.I.Khan districts.
While during the last 24 hours rain occurred at a few places in Malakand, Peshawar and Kohat Divisions including in Parachinar 04 mm, Mirkhani 03 mm, Peshawar, Cherat.—APP
