LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has set a target of transforming Punjab into an artificial intelligence-enabled province by 2029.
The target was discussed during a meeting between the chief minister and Provincial Adviser Ali Mustafa Dar, where preparations for the formal launch of the Punjab AI Vision 2029 were reviewed.
Dar briefed the chief minister on the performance of the provincial AI Office over the past two months and provided an update on Punjab’s first AI-enabled delivery unit.
The meeting also covered the team established to implement Punjab’s AI agenda and an onboarding programme developed with the support of experts.
Progress on the province’s plan to adopt artificial intelligence and the next phase of implementation were also discussed. Maryam Nawaz was given a detailed briefing on the six key pillars of the Punjab AI Vision 2029.
The meeting reaffirmed the government’s commitment to using modern technology and AI to improve public services, governance and systems aimed at facilitating citizens.
