LAHORE – Students across Punjab will return to schools on Monday, August 24, following the province’s three-month summer vacation.
However, they will have another public holiday just two days after schools reopen.

Rabiul Awal Begins
Earlier, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced that the moon for Rabi-ul-Awwal was not sighted, meaning the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal will fall on August 26, 2026.
The announcement was made by Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad following a meeting in Islamabad.
Representatives of the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Ministry of Science and Technology and other relevant institutions also participated in the proceedings.
When is the Next Holiday?
According to the federal government’s official public holiday calendar, August 26 has been declared a public holiday on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
This means students in Punjab will attend school for just two days after the summer break before getting another day off on Wednesday, August 26.
