Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz Sharif has directed for comprehensive arrangements for cleanliness and waste collection on Eid-ul-Azha.
He also directed in time disposals of offals and other remaining of sacrificial animals in all big and small cities of the province.
The Chief Minister said that he will personally monitor all arrangements to ensure a clean environment. However, earlier Chief Minister Punjab Hamza Shehbaz took a briefing about cleanliness arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha and approved the final plan in this regard.
The CM or-dered to make a control room and get a third party audit of cleanliness plan. He also directed to make special drainage arrangements in view of expected rains during the Eid days.
Hamza activated the ad-ministration across Punjab with regard to disposing off residues of animals along with making excellent cleanliness arrangements.
Meanwhile on the direction of Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz, the Punjab Local Government Department has activated the provincial as well as all District Control Rooms for effective monitoring of sanitation arrangements on Eid-ul-Adha.
Local Government Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch has said that the control room would monitor the ongoing 24-hour cleaning campaign across the province on the three days of Eid and will immediately address the griev-ances of the citizens.
The Secretary Local Government further said that for the convenience of the citizens, complaints can also be lodged on the given telephone numbers advertised in media for each District Control Room and Provincial Control Room. The helpline of Lahore Waste Management Company can also be contacted on 1139.
He said that the officers and personnel of the local bodies department had been directed to stay in the field round the clock.
He said that effective measures had also been taken for immediate disposal of remains of sacrificial animals.
“Complaints can be lodged on WhatsApp number 03314991728 if the remains of animals are left unpicked in any area of Lahore. Similarly, special WhatsApp numbers have also been issued for all the districts of Punjab province.
The department will take immediate action on the information sent by the citizens through designated WhatsApp numbers.”, He assured.
The secretary LG also directed all the officers of the local government department to ensure proper disposal of the residuals of animals in time to save the environment from decay and monitor the whole process themselves in person.
