Chinese Consul General Yang Yundong met with IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon at the Central Police Office in Karachi to discuss matters of mutual interest, including security and police initiatives. The meeting was also attended by the Karachi Police Chief and several senior police officers from various divisions, including Security and Emergency, Establishment, and RRF.

During the meeting, the Chinese Consul General extended an invitation to IG Sindh to attend the National Day celebration of China. He emphasized the strong commitment of both Pakistan and China to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), praising the security measures taken by the Sindh Police for Chinese nationals.

Yang expressed satisfaction with the steps taken to protect Chinese citizens, particularly the formation of a separate force dedicated to their security.

He mentioned that Chinese businesses are keen to invest in Sindh, especially Karachi, and welcomed the enhanced security arrangements as encouraging and positive. He also remarked on the invaluable friendship between Pakistan and China, calling it unique and exemplary.

IG Sindh responded by stating that the trust shown in the security arrangements strengthens their commitment. He assured the Consul General that additional personnel will soon be deployed to the Special Protection Unit (SPU) to further enhance security for Chinese nationals.

“I assure you that Sindh is a very safe province for Chinese citizens,” said IG Memon, adding that the number of officers assigned to protect Chinese nationals will continue to increase. “We are committed to providing our Chinese brothers with a secure and peaceful environment.”
