China National Day reception honours overseas Chinese in Pakistan
Chinese Ambassador Mr Jiang Zaidong on Tuesday said that China continues to write new chapters in the two major miracles of rapid economic development and long-term social stability, advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on an irreversible historical course. “Under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the scientific guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, China has secured a complete victory in the fight against poverty and built a moderately prosperous society in all respects,” said the Ambassador while addressing the audience at an impressive reception held here to observe China’s National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival.
The event was jointly hosted by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China Islamabad, together with the Association of Overseas Chinese in Pakistan and the Association of Chinese Enterprises in Pakistan.
Prominent among those were Additional Secretary Dr. Mohammad Faisal, President of Association of Overseas Chinese Lajielian, Wang Huihua, Nasir Khan and Qayyum Jan.
Speakers on the occasion called for promoting bilateral cooperation, technology transfer, and local industry partnerships between Chinese and Pakistani enterprises.
Addressing the reception, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong said that over the past 77 years, under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people have strived unremittingly and achieved the historic leap from standing up, growing prosperous to growing strong.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong said: “Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in particular, under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the scientific guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, China has secured a complete victory in the fight against poverty and built a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
“We have continued to write new chapters in the two major miracles of rapid economic development and long-term social stability, advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on an irreversible historical course. The year 2026 marks a sound start to the 15th Five-Year Plan. China’s GDP grew by 4.7 percent year-on-year in the first half of the year, with an economic increment of 3.6 trillion yuan, hitting a record high for the same period in the past five years,” he said.
