LAHORE – Prices of chicken meat saw uptick in Lahore, and parts of Punjab despite drop in inflation in recent weeks.
Over the weekend, the price of chicken meat reached increased by several notches to Rs585-595 per kg in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and other cities in Punjab.
Last week, the price of chicken price was around Rs550 per kilogram. Official rates now list the price at Rs585 per kilogram, but several poultry shops are selling the meat around Rs600 per kg.
Chicken Rates in Lahore
Despite drop in prices of other basic commodities, citizens are expressing their discontent with the increased chicken prices and are expected for lower in rates of chicken.
Chicken is commonly affordable and its price varies based on several factors, including demand and supply. Chicken prices are monitored by district government Lahore.
