RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Saudi Minister of Defence HRH Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz have emphasized the continuation of joint efforts to confront attacks targeting Saudi Arabia in accordance with the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
The emphasis came during a meeting between the two defence leaders, where they discussed the recent security situation and attacks targeting Makkah al-Mukarramah as well as civilian and economic facilities in the Kingdom.
According to an official statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two sides also praised the outcomes of the meeting of the Chiefs of Staff of countries participating in the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
During the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of continuing coordinated efforts to address the attacks under the framework of the agreement.
The discussions also covered matters related to regional security and defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi side was represented by Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Oyayari, Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, and Advisor to the Minister of Defence for Intelligence Affairs Professor Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif.
Field Marshal Asim Munir was accompanied by a Pakistani delegation during the meeting.
