Reports in local media said a Grade 18 officer from Punjab was reportedly assigned additional charge of Grade 20 position, triggering widespread debate over seniority rules, administrative procedure, and transparency in postings.
Social media users questioned how junior officer could be directly given charge of a senior post within authority. Abbasi also shared an official notification, which quickly gained traction online and fuelled further discussion.
The notification shared online says, The Federal Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. Abdullah Khurram Niazi, a BS-18 Officer of PMS, Government of Punjab, presently posted as Director General (Environment), Capital Development Authority (CDA) on deputation, as Member (Environment), CDA, under the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control, on acting charge basis, with immediate effect and until further orders.
