Khalid Arain, Chairman, Cable Operators Association of Pakistan while talking to media said that they will be developing SOPs for safe installation of TV cable across the city and admitted negligence on the part of some cable operators for hazardously encroaching electricity poles.
He said that the association will assist in removal of all hazardous cables encroaching electricity poles across Karachi besides raising awareness among cable operators for safe installation of TV and internet cable.
He also appealed cable operators to play their due role in beautifying the city and prioritize public safety.
Internet, telephone and TV cable hazardously installed on electricity poles were the underlying cause of a number of electrocutions occurred in different parts of the city including the unfortunate incident in DHA where 3 men died due to an energized cable TV wire which was submerged in standing water.
