Warns govt will not tolerate violation of code of conduct

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the police and other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to devise a comprehensive plan for foolproof security during Ashura-e-Muharram.
“It is bounden duty of the government to maintain law and order and safeguard life, honour and property of the common man, especially during Muharramul Haram.”
The chief minister further directed to make more security arrangements pattern on the last years. Usman Buzdar asked all the officers concerned to ensure completion of all Majalis and mourning processions strictly in accordance with the agreed plan.
“Members of District and Divisional Peace Committees should play a vibrant role in promoting religious harmony.”
Usman Buzdar directed that a 4 tiers security should be devise for mourning processions to ensure safety of the people, adding that a report should be submitted to the CM’s office after a thorough audit of CCTV cameras, generators, lights, walk-through gates, metal detectors besides all other devices.
He further stated that there would be no compromise on the publication and distribution of hate material, provocative and hateful speeches as well as violation of the ban on wall chalking.
He said that indiscriminate and strict legal action would be taken against the violators. The chief minister stressed the need for ensuring implementation of code of conduct at all costs.
“The government will not tolerate any violation in this regard.” CM Usman Bazdar said that law enforcement agencies should remain vigilant and use all their energies and capabilities to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.
Additional contingents should be deployed at mosques, Imambargahs and other important places. The Law enforcement agencies should keep a close liaison with each other and security arrangements should be monitored on a regular basis”, he concluded.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar expressed satisfaction over the excellent security arrangements made on the occasion of Independence Day and lauded the efforts of the Cabinet Committee on Law & Order, law enforcement agencies, administration and all the other departments concerned.
The chief minister appreciated and congratulated the police and law enforcement agencies for discharging their obligations wholeheartedly, commitment and dedication.
Usman Buzdar said that members of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order and law enforcement agencies played a vital role for ensuring foolproof security arrangements and Independence Day celebrations were held in a peaceful atmosphere across the province.
The chief minister further stated that the Punjab government, in connection with the Independence Day celebrations, had taken all possible steps to safeguard the lives and property of the people.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar strongly condemned the Karachi tragedy and expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in this tragic incident.
“The more we condemned this tragic incident the less it would be”, declared Usman Buzdar. He said that the inhumane elements involved in the tragic incident have no religion.
He said that the Punjab government equally shares the grief of heirs of the victims and all sympathies are with them. The chief minister also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
