KARACHI – Former cricketer Basit Ali on Thursday predicted that Salman Ali Agha could soon be appointed as Pakistan’s Test captain, becoming the skipper across all three formats.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Basit Ali shared a photo of Salman Agha and wrote, “Congratulations on the red-ball captaincy as well — one captain for all three formats!,”.

Salman Agha recently led Pakistan to a 3-0 clean sweep against Bangladesh in the T20I series, strengthening his position as a strong contender for leadership in the longer format as well.
While Basit Ali’s remarks have sparked speculation, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet issued any official statement regarding a change in Test team leadership.
Earlier, Pakistan, who completed a 3-0 series sweep over visitors, registered their fifth-highest successful T20I chase as they reached the target with 16 balls to spare.
Haris’ 45-ball century is the second fastest for Pakistan in T20Is besides Hasan Nawaz’s 44-ball ton against New Zealand in March earlier this year.
