KARACHI – Banks in Pakistan will remain closed on September 17, 2024 Tuesday as State Bank announced holiday to mark Eid Miladun Nabi SAW.

The central bank said it will observe a closure on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in light of holiday of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, which honors birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

This holiday will impact financial services across the country as banking operations will continue on Wednesday, September 18, it said.

Bank users in Pakistan are advised to plan their transactions in advance due to holiday on week-day and ensure smooth financial operations.

Eid Milad holiday is widely observed throughout the country with various religious events and public gatherings, and it is recognised as national holiday by the government. Financial institutions, stock exchanges, and other related services are anticipated to follow the SBP’s lead and remain closed for the day, with normal business resuming the next day.
