KARACHI – Social media is buzzing with controversial reality show Lazawal Ishq which stirred up fresh storm and once again, its host Ayesha Omar is at the center of the chaos.
After facing ongoing criticism for promoting bold show on social media video platform, Ayeha Omar issued new clarification that has only intensified the debate. According to Bulbulay star , the show is not Pakistani but project offered by Turkish producers and specifically created for Pakistani and Urdu-speaking audiences.
In her post, Ayesha insisted that all girls participating in the show have been allotted separate rooms, while the boys also live and sleep in entirely separate quarters.
She said “Lazawal Ishq is not Pakistani show, and no court has imposed any ban on it. It is a YouTube-only reality show made for Urdu-speaking viewers, not for any TV channel.
Ayesha termed program as reality series that teaches communication skills, relationship building, conversations with partners, and the search for true love. She further clarified that no Pakistani production house or producer created the show; instead, it is a product of a major Turkish production house. According to her, those criticizing it “haven’t even watched it and are forming opinions on their own.”
But Ayesha Omar’s explanation backfired dramatically. Social media users launched a new wave of criticism, accusing the actress of dragging Türkiye into the controversy to save herself.
A user mocked her saying Giving it a fancy name doesn’t hide what’s wrong. Another user wrote: Now she’s going to make Türkiye look bad!” Another said “Even if it’s a Turkish show, Pakistani actors and participants should still uphold their own moral values.”
