Avalanche warning issued for four IIOJK districts

The administration in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has issued avalanche warning for four districts of the territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a spokesperson of IIOJK Disaster Management Authority said, “Avalanche with medium danger level is likely to occur above 2400 meters over Kupwara, Bandipora, Baramulla and Ganderbal districts in next 24 hours.”

“People living in these areas are advised to take precautions and avoid venturing in the avalanche prone areas till further order”, he said.

A massive avalanche struck the Hung area of Sonamarg in the Ganderbal district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, today, resulting in the burial of at least two vehicles. According to Kashmir Media Service, upon receiving directives from the Senior Superintendent of Police of Ganderbal, a police team promptly reached the site and successfully rescued the passengers in vehicles trapped under the avalanche. The incident prompted swift action from various authorities, including the Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local residents and other agencies, to conduct rescue operations.—KMS
