In a press conference held at the District Press Club in Wana, Sahib Khan Wazir, President of the Wana Councilors Alliance in South Waziristan Lower district, expressed deep concern over the 19-day-long protest near the Pak-Afghan Angoor Adda border. The sit-in, organized to highlight pressing issues, has yet to witness substantial progress, with no meaningful negotiations taking place.

President Sahib Khan Wazir, accompanied by alliance cabinet members, declared unwavering support for the Angoor Adda sit-in, emphasizing the need for immediate attention to the protesters’ demands. He called upon key authorities, including Deputy Commissioner South Waziristan Lower Nasir Khan, Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division Zafar Ul Islam Khattak, Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa retired Justice Arshad Hussain, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali, and military leadership, to address the legitimate and constitutional demands put forth by the demonstrators.

Highlighting that the majority of the demands align with those of all tribes in Lower South Waziristan, President Sahib Khan Wazir urged authorities to acknowledge the protesters’ rights.
