Anti-social elements held; drugs, liquors seized

Islamabad police have arrested 05 criminals from different areas of the city, a police spokesman said.

He said that police teams also recovered 260 gram hashish, 02 liquor canes and weapons with ammunition from their possession.

Following the directives of IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, spokesperson said that Islamabad police accelerated crackdown against criminal elements in order to reduce crime rate in the federal capital.

In this regard special police teams of different police stations were formed to take stern action against those involved in anti social activities.

According to the details, one of the Golra police team arrested an accused involved in drug peddling namely Muhammad Zahoor and recovered 260 gram hashish from his possession.

Similarly, Industrial Area police arrested two accused namely Kamran Masih and Javed and recovered two liquor canes from their possession.

Likewise, Nilore and Shamas Colony police teams arrested two accused namely Hammad Sadiq and Muhammad Imran for possessing illegal weapon and mrecovered one 9mm and 30 bore pistols with ammunition from their

possession.

Cases against all the nominated accused have been registered and further investigations are underway.

IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has appreciated this overall

performance of the police teams and further ordered to intensify the crackdown. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard” he added.
