Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid Srinagar on behalf of its incarcerated chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has paid glowing tribute to Hazrat Sheikh Baha-ud-Din Naqshband Sahib (RA) on the occasion of his Urs for his unprecedented spiritual and reformative services in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Anjuman in a statement in Srinagar termed it extremely unfortunate and condemnable that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is being continuously kept under house arrest for the last over 4 years as such he is unable to perform his religious and political activities. This also included his routine to deliver sermon at Khawaja Naqshband Sahib (RA) shrine on the occasion of “Khwaja Digar”.

The Muslims of occupied Jammu and Kashmir are very much disappointed as well as disturbed due to the continuous incarceration of the Mirwaiz and they deem such acts of the occupation authorities as a sheer interference in their religious affairs, the Anjuman said.

It stressed upon the authorities to release Mirwaiz Umar Farooq so that he can spread the message of Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) through his sermons and speeches in this holy month of Rabi-ul-Awwal.—KMS
