LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 72 illegal commercial buildings and premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees in LDA-controlled areas and various housing schemes on Friday.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 10 buildings in Gulshan-e-Ravi and Samanabad, 20 in Township, 17 in Faisal Town and Model Town, and 25 in Allama Iqbal Town during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include American Lycetuff, Huda Foundation, Unique Ravians School & Academy, Depilex Express, Hospital Pharmacy, Smart Cook, grocery stores, food outlets, workshops, offices, and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, and Chief Town Planner II, Azhar Ali, supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams, assisted by the Police.
According to the LDA spokesman, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before the operations were carried out.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against violations of bylaws, encroachments, illegal commercial buildings and non-payment of commercialisation fees in housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
