LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 46 illegal commercial buildings and premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees in LDA-controlled areas and various housing schemes on Thursday.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 11 buildings in Shadman and Shah Jamal, 10 in Gulberg, and 25 in Allama Iqbal Town during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include American Lyceum, Yousaf School System, Pakland Academy, Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority (PHOTA) Head Office, food outlets, offices, and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams, assisted by the Police.
According to the LDA spokesman, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before the operations were carried out.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against violations of bylaws, illegal commercial buildings and non-payment of commercialisation fees in housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
