THE world view of the ongoing US-Israeli aggression against Iran is becoming clearer with the passage of time as even trusted allies of the United States are taking a realistic stand telling Washington it is not their war. As almost all those approached have snubbed Trump’s escort call for reopening of Strait of Hormuz, the US President has again warned them to come forward or be ready for a bad future of NATO.
The response of the US allies is understandable as an overwhelming majority of the members of the global community questions legality and the shifting goals of the war and opposes expansion of a conflict that has already started casting dark clouds on national economies and global trade. As global support is not forthcoming the way it was expected, both the United States and Israel are indulging in acts to provoke Iranian attacks on the neighbouring countries. Tehran implemented its threat in response to the American attack on Charge Island by carrying out missile and drone attacks across the UAE on Monday, disrupting travel at Dubai airport and causing a fire at a crucial oil hub. Tehran has also declared that it was ready to take the Middle East war “as far as necessary”. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also threatened to target US companies and industries across the region, calling on employees to evacuate the sites raising questions about the fate of tech giants such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft and Nvidia in Gulf countries. There are also credible reports of both the US and Israel carrying out false flag operations in their bid to drag countries of the region in the conflict. Besides missile and drone attacks on an oil refinery in the KSA and Turkiye, Western media is used to disseminate propaganda to create misunderstanding between Iran and the Gulf countries. A recent report in the otherwise prestigious New York Times was a case in point wherein it was claimed that the leadership of Saudi Arabia was encouraging President Trump for a drawn out prolonged war with Iran, a claim rubbished outright by Riyadh. The frustration of Washington and Tel Aviv is understandable as their myth of stout military powers and global image are at stake but military might alone cannot defeat a nation determined to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
