The alarm bells must be sounded in Pakistan as the coronavirus has killed 86 more people in a single day with the positivity ratio drawing close to eight percent.
As many as 4,537 more people were infected by coronavirus during the last 24 hours across the country, showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre on Friday morning.
As per the latest NCOC figures, with the addition of 86 new deaths the toll has now soared to 23,295 whereas the total number of cases has now reached 1,024,861 after adding 4,537 new ones.
During the past 24 hours, as many as 1,489 patients have recovered from the virus whereas the total recoveries stood at 938,843.
As of Friday, the total count of active cases was recorded at 62,723 whereas the positivity ratio was recorded at 7.79 percent. As many as 377,231 coronavirus cases have so far been confirmed in Sindh, 355,483 in Punjab, 143,213 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 86,945 in Islamabad, 30,162 in Balochistan, 23,819 in Azad Kashmir and 8,008 in Gilgit Baltistan.
Moreover, 11,019 individuals have so far lost their lives to the pandemic in Punjab, 5,947 in Sindh, 4,444 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 799 in Islamabad, 622 in Azad Kashmir, 327 in Balochistan and 137 in Gilgit Baltistan.
