Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced a work-from-home arrangement for its employees in view of a possible PTI protest in Islamabad and the potential closure of roads.
According to the university administration, all employees will work from home on Friday and Monday.
Following approval from the Vice Chancellor, the Registrar issued a formal notification regarding the work-from-home arrangement.
Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been placed under heightened security ahead of the PTI protest planned for September 27. The authorities have restricted movement on key routes, deploying containers at strategic points and increasing the presence of law-enforcement personnel.
Local traffic within the twin cities was reported to be moving normally on the morning of September 24. However, several major routes linking Islamabad and Rawalpindi with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been restricted as part of the security measures.
The situation has also disrupted educational activities, with some institutions shifting classes to online mode amid concerns over possible road closures and movement restrictions.
