Administrator Iftikhar Ali Shallwani reviewed the ongoing work of replacement of expansion joints on the track of Mina Bazaar of Liaquatabad Flyover. Expansion joints should be replaced expeditiously, he instructed the engineers at the site. More work should be done at night to maintain the flow of traffic on the flyover, the Administrator said, adding after completing the work of one track, the expansion joints on the other track should also be replaced. He ordered the engineers to ensure timely completion of work with excellent quality and informed the media that new technology is being used to replace expansion joints. Shallwani directed that all expansion joints of Liaquatabad flyover should be checked, saying expansion joints should be replaced and repaired wherever needed. He said the administration wanted to save the citizens from trouble so half of the track has been opened for traffic. Expansion joints are being replaced in phases in view of the heavy volume of traffic and both flyover tracks will be available for traffic as soon as the work is completed.
