A delegation of World Bank led by its country head on Friday called on Administrator Karachi, Sindh government spokesman and CM Advisor on Law Barrister Murtaza Wahab.Metropolitan Commissioner Syed Afzal Zaidi was also present on the occasion.
In the meeting matters related uplift works in Karachi funded by World Bank was discussed.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that they wanted to uplift infrastructure of the city.
He said that constructing roads would pave the way for industrial growth.The Administrator said that World Bank would be given full assistance by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation.
He said that Karachi is an important port city and has different needs comparing to other cities. He said that Karachi has a unique importance owing to its geographical situation.
Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that they welcome interest of World Bank and other international organizations for uplift works in Karachi and hoped that it would be fruitful for the citizens.
During the meeting, World Bank’s country head apprised about the progress of development works and also presented different suggestions.
The Administrator said that said Karachi Metropolitan Corporation would provide all possible assistance to World Bank. “We want these projects to be completed on time so that the people could be benefited,” he added.
