Tree plantation drive to begin from Sunday: Governor

Governor Sindh Mr. Imran Ismail has said that Tree Plantation Campaign would start in the province from Sunday (August 9) and it would be actively participated by the members of Tiger Force. Governor Sindh Mr. Imran Ismail was presiding over a meeting on Thursday to review arrangements for tree plantation campaign in the province. Affects of climate change on Pakistan specially Sindh province, the need of Tree Plantation for healthy environment and beautification and steps needed in this regard were also discussed on the occasion. Governor Sindh Mr. Imran Ismail said that the members of tiger force would not only take active part in the campaign but would also motivate various segments of our society to contribute in the campaign. Governor Sindh Mr. Imran Ismail said that in line with the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan this campaign would be carried out with utmost zeal and enthusiasm. Pakistan is also affected by global climate change and Prime Minister was fully aware about its adverse effects on the environment in Pakistan, he added. Governor Sindh Mr. Imran Ismailsaid that Federal Government, under that vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan ImranKhan was fully committed toward planting 10 billion trees during five year as it was needed to create a sustainable healthy environment for people of Pakistan. The meeting was attended by MPA Shahzad Qureshi, Municipal Commissioner Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Dr. Syed Saif ur Rehman, Zahid Saeed, Adnan Asdar and Farah Shah.
