Journalist clinches PhD on BBC

Saeed Ahmed Ali, a senior journalist at the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) Lahore, has successfully completed his PhD in Urdu from Punjab University Oriental College, with several awards and medals in his credit.
Saeed Ahmed Ali belongs to Qadirabad Abad village in Mandi Bahauddin district. He accomplished his PhD degree after approval of his thesis titled ‘ Role of BBC London in promotion of Urdu Language’, under the supervision of Professor Dr Muhammad Fakhar-ul-Haque Noori, a noted critic and educationist.
In his research achievements, he published several articles on miscellaneous disciplines, in high impact factor websites, journals and newspapers. Besides having been a distance runner and a participant of National Games in the discipline of athletics, he has also been awarded several excellent distinctions in calligraphy, painting and National Husn-e-Qirat contests.
His MPhil degree is from the Government College University, Lahore on Aristotle’s Poetics. Besides, Saeed is honoured with ‘All Pakistan English Essay Writing Gold Medal on ‘Strive of Abuzar Gaffari against capitalism’ and a Sitara-e-Samaj Award by the government of Pakistan, according to a PU press release. Including social, political and educational quarters, noted Journalists and anchor persons have felicitated Saeed on his first ever research work on BBC (London) Urdu.
