In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has condemned the use of brute force by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Panzinara, Srinagar, yesterday.
The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that scores of youth had been injured and properties damaged by troops while crushing the peaceful protests with brute force.
He said that use of aggressive tactics to quell peaceful protests had become a routine in the territory where people were being collectively punished for seeking peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute and restoration of their genuine political rights. Terming the continued bloodshed as the result of unresolved Kashmir dispute, the spokesman said that it would have been wise enough that New Delhi should stop its stubbornness and start working to resolve the dispute according to the will of Kashmiri people.
He added that amicable settlement of the Kashmir dispute was the only way to establish permanent peace in the region.
