Corona patients decline encouraging: Saqib

Chief Executive Officer Health Dr. Rehmatullah Saqib has said the decline in the number of Corona patients in the district is very encouraging. Addressing meet the press in press club on Monday, he alongwith Medical Superintendent DHQ Hospital Dr. Rehan Azhar and Focal Person COVID-19 Dr. Abid Hussain Bhatti, he said that only 13 patients have been reported positive in the district during the past 13 days.
He maintained that the decrease in the number of patients was due to affective implementation of SOPs and awareness among the masses about the fatal menace. He said that out of 2340 suspected Corona patients, 522 were declared positive out of which 501 patients were fully recovered and only 13 patients are active in the district at present. Replying to a question he said that the only 8 Corona patients including two women were died since March and added that most of them were chronic patients of other diseases also.
All the three officers of the health department told the media that the health department had made prompt arrangements to set up Quarantine Centres and Isolation Centres in Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattian and Rural Health Centres in the district. They appreciated the government in general and ex-MNA Ch. Mehdi Hassan Bhatti and his son MNA Ch. Shoukat Ali Bhatti for providing all sorts of protective kits, ventilators.
