Pakistan’s Coronavirus death toll on Friday touched 4,000 with 69 more fatalities reported in last 24 hours as the number of positive cases surged to 197,535. According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center 2,775 persons have been tested positive for Covid-19 in 24 hours. Till now 75,168 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 71,987 in Punjab, 24,303 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 9,946 in Balochistan, 11,981 in Islamabad, 1,398 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 962 in Azad Kashmir. With the latest figures Sindh’s tally of positive cases reached 76,318 and death toll stands at 1,205.
Sindh has reported 1,150 new coronavirus cases and 27 deaths during the past 24 hours, according to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. In a statement, he said that 5,103 tests were conducted out of which 1,150 came back positive, a 22 per cent detection rate. “This is one of the highest and we have to control it by following the guidelines issued by experts, the government and the WHO,” he said.Balochistan has reported 129 new cases of the novel coronavirus, raising the tally in the province to 9,946. Moreover, the provincial health department also confirmed the death of one more person, raising the death toll to 109.
