Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Atif Mashal on Wednesday called on Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Senator Sirajul Haq in Islamabad and discussed with him situation in Afghanistan and region as well.
According to details, Senator Siraj said the JI fully supported the intra-Afghan peace talks which were expected to start in Qatar later this month. It was need of the hour that Afghan groups initiated dialogue to resolve their differences and establish peace in the war torn country. He declared the withdrawal of US troops from Afghan soil as the biggest event of the century. It was victory of Afghan nation who never accepted the foreign rule over them, he added.
The JI chief said the peace in Afghanistan was also important for the development of Pakistan. He highlighted the need for strengthening cooperation between two countries in health, education, trade, women development and other sectors. He said there was need to check the conspiratorial role of New Delhi in Kabul. Growing influence of India in Afghanistan could be dangerous for brotherly relation between Islamabad and Kabul, he added.
Senator Siraj condemned bomb blasts in a mosque and hospital of Kabul. He prayed for the martyrs and wished early recovery to the injured. The meeting held at the residence of JI leader and former MNA Mian Aslam.
