Fully Funded Scholarships 2026 27 For Pakistani Students Full List Of All Universities Deadlines And Apply Online

ISLAMABAD – For thousands of Pakistani students, studying at top foreign university remains dream often held back by soaring tuition fees and living expenses. But there are several opportunities for international education, as universities and governments offer fully funded scholarships for 2027, covering tuition, monthly stipends, accommodation and even airfare.

From European universities offering monthly allowances of up to €1,400 to prestigious institutions in UK, Canada, Switzerland and Middle East, international scholarship programmes are providing financial assistance for undergraduate, Master’s and PhD studies. While application deadlines for major programmes such as Chevening, Commonwealth and Fulbright have already passed for the relevant intake, students still have opportunities to pursue scholarships through Erasmus Mundus, Gates Cambridge, ETH Zurich and various university-funded initiatives.

Several additional government-backed programmes in Türkiye, Hungary, China, Japan and South Korea are also expected to accept applications in the coming months.

Fully Funded Scholarships Pakistani Students 2026

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Scholarship

Among most attractive opportunities is the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Scholarship, which allows students to pursue postgraduate education at multiple European universities.

EU-backed programme offers scholarships covering participation costs and providing financial assistance for travel, visas and living expenses. Selected students may receive approximately €1,400 per month for programmes lasting up to two years. Applications are submitted directly to participating universities, with most admission deadlines falling between October and January.

Gates Cambridge Scholarship

Another major opportunity is the Gates Cambridge Scholarship, which finances eligible postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. International applicants, including Pakistanis, generally face course-dependent deadlines of December 8, 2026, or January 6, 2027. The scholarship supports qualifying Master’s and doctoral programmes.

In Switzerland, ETH Zurich’s Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) is accepting applications for the autumn 2027 intake from November 1 to November 30, 2026.

The programme targets outstanding Master’s candidates and provides financial support for study and living costs. Applicants holding undergraduate degrees from outside Switzerland must apply during the November window.

Canadian Scholarship Deadline

For Pakistani students planning undergraduate studies in Canada, the University of Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship is another major funding opportunity. The scholarship covers tuition, books, incidental fees and residential accommodation for four years.

However, November 6, 2026, is the final scholarship submission deadline for students already nominated by their schools. The school nomination deadline expired on October 9, while the university admission deadline was October 16.

Germany also offers postgraduate funding through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), including development-related Master’s programmes under its EPOS initiative.

Deadlines differ by institution, with some programmes accepting applications during the final months of 2026. Scholarship benefits can include monthly stipends and other educational expenses, depending on the award.

Other options include Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for doctoral and research candidates, funding opportunities at the University of British Columbia and France’s Eiffel Excellence Scholarships, for which participating universities manage candidate nominations. The latest Swiss scholarship cycle reportedly had a deadline around October 31, making it important for applicants to verify whether their chosen route remains available.

Scholarships Expected to Open for Pakistani Students in 2027

Students unable to apply during November and December can prepare for several upcoming international scholarship programmes. Türkiye’s government-backed Türkiye Bursları is expected to attract considerable interest among Pakistani applicants.

The programme covers undergraduate, Master’s and doctoral education and offers tuition support, monthly allowances, accommodation, health insurance, flight tickets and Turkish language training.

Its regular application window runs from January 10 to February 20, with the same schedule expected for the 2027 cycle unless officially revised.

Hungary’s Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship is another major opportunity, offering funded education across Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral programmes. Applications for Pakistani candidates generally involve the Higher Education Commission, with the next intake expected to open around mid-November 2026.

China’s Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) is also expected to become available through HEC nominations and participating Chinese universities during late 2026 or early 2027.

Japan’s MEXT Scholarship traditionally announces embassy-route opportunities during April and May, while South Korea’s Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) generally opens graduate application routes around February and March.

Australia Awards Scholarships also provide postgraduate funding to eligible applicants, although application dates, participating countries and available qualifications must be checked for each intake.

UAE Offers Scholarship Opportunities

Pakistani students specialising in artificial intelligence, computer science and related technical disciplines can explore opportunities at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) in the United Arab Emirates.

The institution offers postgraduate education and scholarship opportunities in AI-related fields, with the next academic intake beginning in August 2027.

A December 15, 2026 deadline has been circulated for some programmes, but applicants should confirm the current deadline for their specific degree through the university’s admissions portal.

Additional opportunities are available through the Islamic Development Bank’s scholarship programmes, HEC overseas funding schemes and university-specific awards at institutions such as KAIST in South Korea and Khalifa University in the UAE.

Chevening, Commonwealth and Fulbright: What Students Should Know

Three of the most recognised international funding programmes have already completed their relevant application rounds for 2027 entry.

Chevening, which supports eligible one-year Master’s degrees in the United Kingdom, closed its latest application cycle in October 2026. Its next major recruitment window is expected around August 2027.

Commonwealth Scholarships similarly completed their main application process in October, while the relevant Fulbright programme for Pakistani applicants closed earlier in 2026.

Students targeting these opportunities should begin preparing for subsequent application cycles rather than expecting immediate admission.

How Pakistani Students Can Apply for Scholarships Abroad

Education advisers generally recommend that students begin their preparations several months before international scholarship deadlines. Applicants usually need academic transcripts, degree certificates, recommendation letters, a statement of purpose and proof of English language proficiency.

Depending on the institution, IELTS or TOEFL scores may be required, although some universities accept alternative language certifications or evidence of previous English-medium education.

Students should additionally review updated visa requirements, financial documentation rules and admission conditions in their destination countries.

With several major deadlines falling in November and December, Pakistani students planning to study abroad in 2027 have limited time to complete applications for certain prestigious scholarships. However, upcoming programmes across Asia, Europe and the Middle East will continue to offer opportunities for students seeking internationally recognised degrees without bearing the full financial burden of overseas education.
