Rising defence capabilities

PAKISTAN’S defence industry is achieving new milestones with each passing day, reflecting the growing technical expertise, determination and commitment of its scientists and engineers. The successful flight test of the country’s first indigenously developed air-to-air missile, Fa’az, is another significant achievement that underscores Pakistan’s progress towards strengthening its defence capabilities through indigenous innovation.

Equipped with a state-of-the-art terminal guidance system, Fa’az is capable of engaging enemy targets at longer ranges. Its induction will significantly enhance the operational flexibility of the Pakistan Air Force and further strengthen its ability to respond effectively to emerging security challenges. The successful test is not merely a technological accomplishment; it is a demonstration of the country’s resolve to develop modern defence systems that meet its strategic requirements. Pakistan Air Force has consistently risen to the occasion whenever the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity have been challenged. Its professionalism, operational preparedness and ability to deliver a strong response to adversaries have always been a source of national pride. The development of advanced indigenous weapons systems will further reinforce these capabilities and provide the Air Force with greater operational options in safeguarding national airspace. This achievement deserves special recognition for Pakistan’s scientists, engineers and defence professionals, whose dedication and hard work are taking the country’s defence industry to new heights. Their contribution is particularly commendable at a time when technological advancement and self-reliance have become essential elements of national security. The recent successful tests of the Fatah-2 extended-range ballistic missile and the extended-range Fatah-IV ground-launched cruise missile further demonstrate the breadth of progress being made in the country’s defence sector. These achievements reflect a consistent effort to modernize defence production and reduce dependence on foreign suppliers. We are confident that this momentum will continue, enabling Pakistan to meet an increasing share of its defence requirements through domestic production. Such progress will also create opportunities to export indigenous defence equipment, earn valuable foreign exchange and contribute to economic growth.
