CDA appoints three retired brigadiers as DGs

Illegal Housing Scheme In Mouza Gangota Gujraan Sayyedaan Faces Cda Enforcement Action

ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has appointed three retired military officers as directors general (DGs) in Grade 20 to head different departments.

The authority’s Human Resource Directorate has issued official notifications confirming the appointments.

According to the notifications, Brigadier (retd) Muhammad Azhar Khan has been appointed DG Land, Brigadier (retd) Muhammad Javed Iqbal as DG Civic Management, and Brigadier (retd) Rashid Manzoor as DG Planning and Development.

The appointments come amid ongoing legal proceedings concerning recruitment in the CDA.

Last month, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended the cancellation of the recruitment process for several CDA posts, including assistant directors and building inspectors, until the next hearing.

The court issued notices to the CDA chairman and other respondents, seeking their replies on the matter. It also restrained the authority from issuing fresh advertisements for the vacant positions.

In a two-page written order issued after the hearing, Justice Khadim Hussain Somroo further directed the CDA not to fill the posts through promotions or transfers until the next hearing.
